Enjoy your coffee and eat it too

Guilty as charge, I am a coffee addict, specifically cold brew coffee of any kind! So instead of enjoying a coffee and a separate breakfast I have been preparing these awesome cold brew coffee smoothie bowls for a great pre-workout or post-workout treat. These are super simple and I think I have perfected the taste. Depending on how much you like the taste of coffee, you can add as much or as little as you'd like! I will usually add about a cup to this recipe.

Ingredients:

1 cup cold brew coffee

Extra ice cubes

1 frozen banana (an be room temperature, but won't be as icy and smooth of a texture)

1/2 frozen avocado (or not frozen)

1 big spoon full creamy or chunky PB/ Almond Butter

1/2 cup almond milk

Some water to lighten it up

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Blend it all up, baby !

Toppings: Hemp seeds for extra Omega-3s and Protein, coconut shreds, and pumpkin seeds

Like I mentioned above, coffee has been shown to be a wonderful ergogenic aid before a workout, just in case you need an extra pick me up! But if you are anything like me, sometimes too much of a good thing can have my stomach feeling bloated and heavy. If you want to avoid this problem all together maybe save this treat for after a workout. If not, then just be mindful of how much coffee you are incorporating and if this starts to effect you during your workout in either a positive or negative way.
