Nutrition Services
In todays health care community, there is an overlap between the services and training a Registered Dietitian (RD) may have compared to a Nutritionist. To clarify this I will be explaining my background as a Nutritionist. In the state of New Jersey, there is no legislation stating that I must have a particular certification to be able to deem myself a Nutritionist. However, here are the credentials I do possess from my undergraduate career at University of Delaware. Some of the courses I have taken over my undergraduate career have included Human Physiology, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Nutrition Counseling, Food Production & Service, Medical Nutrition Therapy I and II, and Nutritional Assessment Methods. In combination with these courses I have devoted countless time and effort to my experiences outside of the classroom. These experiences have included teaching nutrition education to elementary children, guiding food demonstrations to individuals with disabilities, and holding a full-time job serving food to the geriatric population.
To gain even further experience and knowledge I will be starting Masters courses and a Dietetic Internship in Spring 2019 at College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ.
