For those of you have an unreal obsession with eggs like I do . . .
If you know me at all, you know my love for breakfast foods is endless. My favorites usually include eggs of any form, mixed fruit bowls, homemade parfaits, waffles, nut butter toast ... you name it. If it's part of the "breakfast category" I'll eat it :) Last summer when I wasn't working as much I would take frequent adventures during the Winter and Summer into the city to find awesome places to eat for brunch, and here is one of my favorites : Jack's Wife Freda is a quaint eatery centered around affordable & delicious brunch options with a Mediterranean twist -- different yes, but DUH, that is exactly why it's worth the trip.
The last time I went, I ordered the "Breakfast Bowl" with poached eggs on top-- so unbelievable you would have to go try for yourself ! It was a large bowl filled with red quinoa (power grain), kale, spaghetti squash, grilled tomatoes, and avocado . . . If that doesn't sound like heaven I don't know what does. My mama came along with me on my adventure that day and ordered the "Chicken Kebab" ! I swear the prices were perfect for the quality of food we were getting, and I was actually in awe over the diverse options they had on the menu. The grand total with some side orders came to about $40.
Check out their menu online! { http://jackswifefreda.com }. & The school pic attached to this post ... incase you forgot to look closely!
And with all being said, if you are now convinced, you might want to take time to decide what you are actually going to order, being that everything on the menu is amazing. I highly suggest finding the instagram on your phone! It's a small eatery located on Carmine Street in SoHo and Lafayette Street. No matter which place you decide to sit for breakfast, lunch, OR dinner make sure to get there 30 minutes before you plan on actually eating. If you are anything like me waiting for amazing food is almost impossible when you are starving AND the only thing to pass the time is to look at your Instagram feed of what you're going to order. SO do yourself a big favor and either make reservations or like I said . . . go there, place your name, and wait some time to be seated, because I 100% promise you Jack's Wife Freda is worth it !
I simply cannot wait to go back this summer and see the new options they have on their menu.
Xo,
Rachel
