Too often during the Summer I find myself torn between wanting to cook meals at home or going out to eat. But the same old question always rises, "Where in town can I go, that actually has 1. a variety or choices 2. is affordable & quick 3. has wholesome food ingredients?" I start to formulate a list in my head, and really narrow down what I am in the mood for (usually dessert, but then I realize I should probably eat a balanced meal). Thai food seems delicious, but can be a bit pricey and doesn't always satisfy me the same way my homemade meals do. Sushi is also affordable, but I am not always in the mood for sushi, or to take it to go -- kind of more of a sit and eat type of meal in my opinion. Fast food, well, yeah it's fast, but that eliminates my previous point about wholesome ingredients. And sure, who doesn't want a quick sub or cheesy slice of pizza for lunch? So basically, now I should probably just go with having froyo for lunch.

That brings me to this wonderful place of eating located on US 206 in Hillsborough, NJ (my lovely hometown of course!) With a limited selection of eateries in the area I stumbled upon Culinary Creations for a quick lunch takeout multiple times this summer, and I have yet to be let down ! This location has always existed since I've lived in Hillsborough, but I never took the time to appreciate it for the type of food it really brought to town, until I started majoring in Dietetics. The ingredients are out of this world, the prices are extremely reasonable (daily specials), and the variety is endless. Last time I went for lunch I membered hearing how amazing the crab cake was, and seafood is also my biggest weakness! I added the lump crab cake sandwich on a bed of beautiful mixed greens with grape tomatoes and balsamic dressing-- YUM. It was the perfect lunch, and nothing too heavy! I could have had the crab cake sandwich which is a usual special, but was able to easily alter this special for a power lunch filled with vegetables, healthy fats, and some tasty spices/ seasoning added into the crab cake.

So, yes, sometimes pizza really hits the spot, and loaded sandwiches are a great summertime treat on the beach, but for the days when you want something different, and I mean something you wouldn't normally get so easily anywhere else, stop at Culinary Creations. A perfect spot for breakfast specials on the weekends (amazing walnut pancakes) , and lunchtime during the week!
